223 REACH SVHC ON THE EU CANDIDATE LIST

Austria, Belgium, and Denmark have recommended a total of four (4) additional substances of very high concern (SVHCs) to the REACH Candidate List of chemicals for their insertion into the Authorisation List. Therefore, it gives a total of 223 REACH SVHC. See below the four new substances and examples of where they may be present. The new SVHC list is available as of January 2022.

Thus, the total of SVHCs is 223 as of January 2022. Enviropass has updated the EPEC form accordingly – Enviropass Product Environmental Compliance.

REACH Obligations to Importers of Articles

First, it is the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) that is in charge of implementing the EU REACH regulation.

For instance, under certain conditions, producers or importers of a product containing one SVHC or more in the concentration of 0.1% at the component level must declare them on the ECHA SCIP database. Importantly, this rule applies to any of the 223 REACH SVHC.

Finally, on top of the declarable SVHCs, the REACH Annex XVII also imposes limitations on chemicals in substances, mixtures, and articles.

Are you still having questions? After all, Enviropass is here to help you comply with EU REACH, including the SVHC, the Annex XVII assessment, and the SCIP notification.
